Bad customer service
I purchased these hearing aids in 2019 and was told that if they were lost or damaged they would be replaced once in two year period. one of them quit working and I lost the other one.
When I called customer service they said I did not purchase a protection plan. I thought they came with a two year warranty.
- Covered by medicare

Worst Hearing Aid on the Market
In or around August 2016, I received an advertisement in the mail from United Health Care for a hearing aid for my brother. I contacted his primary physician for his signature on the required Physician Clearance Form signed on 8/25/2016.
I did not know that UHC purchased this hearing aid company.I submitted the Clearance Form and made an appointment for October 12, 2016 where he received a hearing test and a hearing aid at the location 165 Broadway Suite 2300, NYC NY. We did not pick up the aid until the mold was made a few weeks later. I paid $565.00 for the test, mold and the aid which is the in-network price requested by Hi Health Innovations. I paid for the services with my credit card.I learned that United Healthcare purchased Hi Health innovations to provide hearing aids to Medicare recipients who pay $115.00 plus $112.00 annually for health care services with an in-network choice for hearing aids; however, there are numerous problems if the company cannot provide sustainable services to their subscribers who need to repair or adjust the aids they are selling.
In addition, they are asking subscribers to fax in their hearing testing information via fax and sending the aids via mail back to subscribers. The results of the testing are variable depending on who does the test and where it is performed, thus the aids that are being provided may not be suitable. The testing results from Hi-Health Innovations were so poor the Audiologist could not use them, thus I needed to have my brother re-tested.The business model of UnitedHealth Care’s Hi Health Innovations Company needs to be addressed so that consumers including those with Medicare are receiving quality hearing aid services from a reputable provider. We returned to receive the mold and hearing aid. The mold did not fit correctly and my brother had difficulty inserting the mold correctly into his ear as he has a developmental disability. The mold finally broke.
I contact Hi Health Innovations for an appointment for another mold which was scheduled for January 22, 2018 at 9:30 am. No one was available to help us as the provider called to report she was sick. I contacted Hi Health innovation and was informed that I would have to pay $130.00 for another mold. There was no one in the office located at 411 Lafayette Street, 6th Floor, Regus Office Suites, Manhattan NY 10003. It appears that this is a private office not a company so if the one person who rents the office does not show up, there is no one there who can provide the service. There were problems with this hearing aid from the minute I picked it up.
There is no way to turn off the hearing aid except by opening the battery compartment. It must be removed from the ear and the compartment opened. As you guessed the battery promptly falls on the floor. In addition, we were never provided with a proper case for the hearing aid. What we were given was a soft bag placing the aid at risk for damage.I am not sure that any of the audiologists are licensed, and that that they meet the requirements of the NYS Education Department, Division of Professional Licensing Services, Speech-Language Unit.
I was informed by the NYS Department of State that the professional who tested by brother was a hearing aid dealer and not a licensed audiologist. On February 23, 2018 my brother had an appointment to see; a physician for an ENT evaluation. He received a recommendation for an evaluation for a battery of hearing tests and an evaluation for a hearing aid. That evaluation was performed at the NY Eye and Ear Infirmary on the same date and UHC will be sent the bill for this evaluation. On the same date a mold was made for the new aid he will receive.
The cost of to make the mold was $150.00 receipt for payment is enclosed. On March 9, 2018 he will be picking up his new Signa hearing aid along with itemized invoice. The approximate cost of the aid is $2,600.00. He is not expecting to pay any more for this new aid other than the same out of pocket expenditures he would have paid to Hi Health Innovations which was $565.00. This money was returned to him after he returned the hearing aid that was defective along with the mold that disconnected from the hearing aid.The hearing aid testing disclosed that there was a substantial difference in the testing performed in an acoustic laboratory and the tests that were done by Hi Health Innovations using a portable hearing testing device and performed by a Hearing Aid Dealer versus a qualified and Licensed NYS Audiologist.
In addition, the battery of tests performed by the Hearing Aid Dealer were insufficient to determine the full scope of his loss as a battery of tests was never performed prior to the selection of a hearing aid that would meet his needs.
There was no way the test performed by Hi Health Innovations Hearing Aid Dealer could possibly be used to determine the scope of his needs and matched with a Hi Health Innovation aid and may have further damaged his hearing. The mold caused pressure sores on his ear.My brother has been denied a hearing aid from another provider other than UHC because he could not benefit from the Hi-Health Innovations hearing aid manufactured and sold by UHC.I itemized the costs to date in an e-mail submitted to Hi-Health Innovations and I have updated them with all correspondence.
Did I buy something from them???
don't kno to contact them???
don't kno amount due and purchase???
Bad/no customer service
I have been trying to get an appointment for my mother for over 7 months. I make an appointment, get a confirmation email, then as it gets close to the appointment day, they cal to reschedule.
One time they simply weren't there. We took a cab as parking downtown is hard to find and mom can't walk far. When we got there, after an incredible amount of effort on mom's part, we were told that the hearing aide person wasn't in the office (shared space office) that day. It cost $40 for the round trip cab fare and took mom a few days to recover.
Had rescheduled for this Thursday.
Sure enough, they called today (Tuesday) and said we would have to reschedule. If there were any other options mom could afford I would never talk to this company again!
Pure torture.
I sent in a review months ago I cancelled the policies on October 30,2018. I am still receiving bills from urgent cares and clinics that I took my daughter too.
If you read ALL of the policy documents them don’t forget all the exclusions. For my adult son and his daughter we paid approximately $5,000 in premiums for 10 months and the company actually paid less than $200.
Most of these plans are not ACA approved to meet the requirements the government put in place. I would rather go without insurance and doctor appointments then get ripped off by these companies.
If you see a doctor for Instance a ‘mole’ on the face of a child- denied. So if you have to renew every 6 months then you pay a ‘fee’ on $125 for processing AND now that problem is pre-existing. Rip off company. Never again.
So far so good.
I contacted the company as referred on my UHC site. They set up an appointment with an audiologist. They called to reset to another date no problem. I arrived on time and the audiologist was there.
We discussed my problems with my wife chiming in. I took the hearing test which mirrored some I had last year.
She made recommendations from the 4 types offered, this was in the middle.
I paid for them, and 3 days later they arrived. i've had 2 phone calls to check on them and a couple emails with contact names and numbers.
So far I'm getting used to them and will get a tune up before the trial period ends.
Return information
We returned the companion microphone and were not told they would deduct a $69 restocking fee from the refund. The audiologist did not tell us and it was on the second bill of sale.
(there is one for each hearing aid)
The first bill of sale has circled the items she went over. No markings on the second bill of sale.
She should have told us, so the company should refund the $69 minus shipping charges.
- Hearing aids
- Not told about restocking fee
Preferred solution: Full refund
Poor Customer Service
I would not recommend them. They show no concern. They act as if they are doing you a favor, when it is part of your insurance coverage.
Worst customer service I have encountered
I broke my hearing aid six weeks ago. I called to find out what to do.
They said they would mail me a package to return the unit. Then
they said it could take up to 3-4 weeks to see if they could fix the unit.
At that time they would let me know if I needed a new unit.
To this day I have not received a package to return the unit.
How can a person with hearing problems wait months to solve a
problem like this. The other issue is that no one carries the batteries
including Batteries Plus which they could not get.
If this is customer service they should go out of business!
Nerve recommend this company.

Beware. Do your homework and read reviews.
Took my daughter to a doctor on 07/01/17 (One year ago). Ridiculous amount for 1st visit to see a PA for a child was $275.
Hii Innovations wanted the last 5 years of records (this was the 1st visit and not within the range they requested.) Still wanted the doctors office to send them a paper stating child had NEVER been seen during those times. They requested 5 years of records from doctor in AZ. You, the customer, have to do this. Hii will not request records.
So, over 1 year later after fighting with Hii I have been turned over to collections even though I paid my copay.
This is the worst company ever. I will search again and go with a reputable company i.e., Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross etc.
I have paid in over $6,000 for a years premium and the company has paid out ZERO.
They will do everything in their legal power to get out of paying any claims. Representative that sells the policies was good but that's the best it gets.
- Customer service that sells policies

Haven't even gotten hearing aids and already aggrevated
My husband needs hearing aids and United Health care said to call I health renovations . They wanted the hearing tests to be sent to them.
They told my husband that the hearing aids need a new battery every week, plus they only last one year and we would have to pay the co-pay every year plus the expense of 52 batteries and new hearing aids every year. what the f?
I cannot believe UHC would deal with a company like this.
Even tho my husband's hearing is considered not good whatsoever, he refuses to be ripped off by this company. I would rather arrange payments with the ear doctor to get him the ones recommended for his hearing.
Good product, Good price, Terrible customer service.
I bought my Hihealth innovations hearing aids in Atlanta, Ga . Was very satisfied for two years.
Needed to have them adjusted and one of the ear molds fixed. That’s when I found out the Atlanta office was closed and the nearest office was in Florida but they don’t take walk ins and customer service would not give out their phone number. The service person I talked with was not interested in my problem, rude and quick tempered and finally just hung up on me. Therefore, my reviews are good product at a great price as long as you don’t have too deal with customer service.
If I lived close to a location that still had a office, I would buy another pair with ease, the aids are that good.
But being from Atlanta with the nearest office 300 miles away, makes it impossible when you can’t even get a phone number. Fred, Covington, Ga.
Excellent hearing and service
I have enjoyed my hearing experience with hi Health innovations! Doing great! Purchased in Chula Vista.

I agree that this is more than disappointing. I might as well have suck a pebble in my ear for all the good it does.
So sorry I got talked into this mess.
With or without the "hearing aid", my level of hearing is the same, no difference at all. I'm on SS so this was a major outlay of money for me & I feel completely ripped off.
I agree but I’ve even gone back to united healthcare and they did nothing to remedy. I think the people at United healthcare need hearing aids.
When I aske to speak to a supervisor I was left on hold and after a half hour I just hung up discussed and with no recourse. I even complained to my agent and he was not helpful either
